This is a HOWTO on using v 0.6x of PBaseUpload utility to upload images or zip files into your PBase account without using a browser.
Step 1 - Download the installation file from PBaseUpload project page.
Step 2 - Run the installer. Follow the simple instructions. Make sure though that 'Start Menu Shortcuts' is checked.
Step 1 - Locate the image (or zip file) you want to upload and right click on it. From the menu, choose 'Send To' and from the second menu choose 'PBase'.
Step 2 - Enter your username and password. The password is not echoed onto the screen, nor is it stored anywhere on your computer. So you will have to enter your password every time you need to upload an image.
You can use PBaseUpload to upload your images to an existing gallery or into a new gallery. Let us see how to upload into an existing gallery first.
Step 1 - Enter '1' when asked whether to create a new gallery or upload into an existing one.
Step 2 - Your existing galleries will be listed 10 at a time. To see more of your gallery list, enter '0'.
Step 3 - Enter the number shown on the left of the gallery name to choose that gallery to upload into.
Step 4 - The upload process then starts and the window closes once the upload is done. The time to upload will depend on the size of the upload, your network connectivity as well as PBase server load.
PBaseUpload also allows you to upload into an new gallery.
Step 1 - After entering your PBase username and password, choose '0' when asked whether to create a new gallery or upload into an existing one.
Step 2 - Choose the gallery in which to make the new gallery, i.e, choose the parent gallery.
Step 3 - Enter your new gallery's 'title'. This can be any combination of characters, spaces, letters etc.
Step 4 - Enter your new gallery's 'name'. This forms the part of your gallery's URL and should not contain any spaces.
Step 5 - Enter your gallery's description.
Step 6 - That is it. The program then goes ahead and creates a new galley as you requested and uploads the image into the new gallery!
Q. I entered the wrong password and now PBaseUpload seems to be using the same incorrect password every time I use it. Is there any way to change the stored password?
A. This was a problem in version 0.6 and has been corrected in release 0.61. Please update to the latest PBaseUpload. If you can't update for some reason, please delete the file named 'pbase-pwd' located in 'C:\' and try again. PBaseUpload should ask for the password the next time you use it.
