PBase now has support for RSS feeds. So, you should not have to use this 'hack'. Srijith 2007/07/11 04:18

How to use the PBase RSS Feed Generator

Note that this script has been moved effective from 02 May 2007. (read the announcement). Simply update the URLs as shown below for things to work again.

This tool by Srijith generates RSS feed which could be aggregated by any RSS compliant reader. To put it in simple language, when you add an 'RSS' feed to your galleries, viewers who subscribe to your feed will automatically be notified when you update your galleries. If you are not sure what RSS feeds and RSS readers are or what RSS is in the first place, please read this tutorial.

Here is how to use it. Just point your RSS reader to this URL:

http://www.ariadacapo.net/pbase/USERNAME.rss OR
http://www.ariadacapo.net/pbase/USERNAME.xml OR
http://www.ariadacapo.net/pbase/USERNAME.rdf

where USERNAME has to be substituted with the username of the person whose gallery changes you want to track.

If you want to display an RSS feed icon in your PBase gallery, you can either display a link or an image. (You can create an image button here!)

In addition, Robert has implemented a combination of JavaScript and the RSS feed to automatically display recent changes at the root of his PBase gallery. You don't have to click on PBase's recent gallery header anymore. You can do the same by using a free tool called RSS to Javascript.

Disclaimer

Olivier wants to note here that even though there is no immediate plans to cancel the service, he cannot guarantee that this service will be available all the time. If for some reason this service needs to be shut down, a message will be posted in the PBase forum as well as here, well in advance.
